Dowdy presents: A Tasteful Pairing
We're taking the Dowdy Studio Wagon to the 3rd Annual Homegrown Music and Arts Fest this Saturday, May 26th and we thought we'd help you pair up some tasty tee selections with a few of the bands that will be blasting awesome from the stages.

Ume gives you what your ears are hungry for - solid upbeat sound with awesome natural vocals that make that rock'n noise that makes you want to dance and sing all over.
The Bright Light Social Hour mixes folk, blues and indie in a bowl of awesome and knows how to pour on the jam. With all those musical weapons, this band can save the world.
Hayes Carl serves up a delicious amount of folk that'll make you grab that jug of whiskey and scream FOLK YEAH!
Listening to Mystery Skulls not only makes our mouth water, but makes us feel like we have enough power and energy to ride the Super Ride

Sound Bear for KXTeeeee!
We joined forces with one of our fave local radio station, 91.7 KXT, to help them with their fundraising campaign this Spring. We designed a tee for them and we're calling him the Sound Bear. He's a musical bear who's just popped out of hibernation for the Spring and is ready to RRRRRRRRAWK with his acoustic guitar and speaker belly.

Married couple, Dylan and Pamela Dowdy, are the artist duo behind Dowdy Studio and the Dowdy Studio Wagon, Dallas’ first mobile art shop. They also designed the all new KXT Spring Fundraising Campaign T-Shirt below!
Together they design, illustrate and handmake everything in
their shop, from quirky screenprinted tees, pillows and bags, to graphic
wooden jewelry, art prints, clocks, and more. All their artwork
features their own hand-drawn illustrations, like the Lumberjack Mer Man
(the unemployed lumberjack of the sea) and Grand Whale (an irregular
hybrid of a musical whale and a grand piano). The dynamic duo pop up in
their Dowdy Studio Wagon in a variety of restaurants, local venues,
festivals and events in the DFW area and beyond. The two artists enjoy
meeting great people in great places, sharing their passion for
independent art and design with others.

You may remember our Brew Riot tees we made last year. Well this year the organizers asked us to make bad-assed tees again for this year's Brew Riot, and we were over the moon excited to create a new Brew Riot tee...cuz we love anything local....especially home brewed beer! YUM!

Project: Granada Theater
One of the awesome things about being artists is getting to work on some really unique projects. A while back the Granada, a popular, iconic and historic music venue here in Dallas, asked us to design a tee for them to sell on location during concerts. The Granada has been around since 1946, so many people have come to love it dearly, and many people want to show their love on their body. Since tattoos are permanent and expensive, tees are probably the next best thing.
Here's what we made!! After countless sketching and working on multiple ideas and directions, we came up with this hybrid of the Granada's neon marquee sign and a guitar, symbolizing bands and music. We felt it was a really great connection between the venue and what people go there to enjoy.
After seeing the final tee printed and done, we gave it a little test run. Dylan tried it out while walking Pepper, our new pup. Ok ok... this was a total light test run. We really need to go wear them to a show and rock out in it. But seriously, this is a super comfy solid black tee and only $25, coming soon @ the Granada

Your mom is awesome!
It's that time of year again where you officially give your momma mad props for being awesome. She's probably done a whole buncha stuff for you, like pack you healthy lunches for school or wiped your stinky booty when your were a baby. Maybe she even embarrassed you in front of your friends when you were a teen or cried happy tears when you graduated high school and went off to college. Whatever it is, mom's are always there for you, and we love them!! We've put together a little selection of fun Dowdy items for mom to inspire you show your love for your momma this Mother's Day.
